Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday, June 5, called for greater investment in value-addition infrastructure in the fisheries sector, saying India is missing out on significant export potential as much of its seafood is sent overseas for processing.Addressing the media on the sidelines of the National Workshop on Seafood Exports in Visakhapatnam, Naidu urged policymakers to promote public-private partnerships (PPPs) to strengthen the sector's value chain.He noted that India's fisheries exports currently undergo limited value addition, forcing shipments to countries such as China, Vietnam, Chile and Ecuador for further processing before reaching global markets.Highlighting changing global consumption…
