China Telecom, iFlytek Team For Intelligent Speech Development

Chinese speech and language technology provider iFlytek has signed a three-year strategic cooperation agreement with China Telecom that aims to promote the development of intelligent speech industry.

The two parties will establish a strategic cooperation relationship to promote the integration between iFlytek's intelligent speech technology and China Telecom's mobile Internet products, customer service, home broadband multimedia, and music services to improve the user experience at China Telecom.

iFlytek said that China Telecom is one of the world's largest CDMA, fixed-line, and broadband Internet operators. The new agreement will enhance the cooperation efforts, expand the cooperation models, and enlarge the cooperation sectors of the two parties. It has a strategic meaning for the company's related products and market expansion, overall solutions innovation, and speech technology application popularization and promotion. In addition, it can help the development of the speech industry.

Founded in June 1999, iFlytek is the leading provider of Chinese speech and language technology, serving consumers, businesses and government organizations. The company has developed patented, award-winning Chinese speech synthesis technology to guarantee and cement its leading role in the speech industry. On April 24, China Mobile became the largest shareholder of iFlytek. However, the company is actually controlled by 13 individual shareholders, led by Liu Qingfeng.
