China's Inspur Group announced that its first micro module data center with independent intellectual property rights, Smart Cloud MDC, has been launched with China Telecom Hangzhou, and the two parties plan to deploy over 10,000 related servers.

The micro module data center solution provided by Inspur features 168U IT equipment space and 40KVA power capacity. Its modules include power distribution systems, cooling systems, airflow containment systems, cabinets, cabling systems, and monitoring system. Inspur and China Telecom Hangzhou will implement a scaled deployment, which will cover at least 200 cabinets and 10,000 servers.

Wang Hongli, Inspur Group's vice president and general manager for the Internet business unit, said that the micro module data center enhances Inspur's integrated service delivery to cloud computing customers. It helps solve coordination problems between infrastructure and servers, lower PUE values, and improve operating and maintenance levels and deployment efficiency. Meanwhile, it provides end-users with a more reliable virtual machine and server operating environment.

Wang believes that the micro module data center represents the latest trend in the Chinese data center infrastructure sector. The company's cooperation with the carrier sets a new example for the market.

Financial terms of this rollout were not revealed by either party.
