China Telecom has signed an agreement with new service providers, including Xinhua Telecom, to expand the ChinaVnet "Yi Dian Tong" (All in One Click) service.
Although it not well known in northern China, China Telecom's ChinaVnet is very popular among service providers in regions south of the Changjiang River. ChinaVnet now has 13 million registered users.
China Telecom has been conducting internal reforms since 2004 in order to avoid risks brought by the decline of voice services and the increase in VoIP.
Its expansion to new service providers is to prepare for the eventual 3G roll-out of new services.
