Following the partial opening of its source code, Microsoft has now announced plans to provide free software to college students, including those studying in China.
Microsoft will cooperate with China Education and Research Network to provide four kinds of software, including system platform, development tools, design tools and database tools to Chinese college students, allowing them to download the software free of charge for "non-commercial course study and research".
Bo Shangjie, general manager of Microsoft Greater China's Development and Cooperation Department, says that through this program, Microsoft will train many excellent software talents for China. Shang says that most of these talents will work for other software companies, and some of them will directly work for Microsoft.
