EMC recently held its EMC Forum 2013 in Beijing to introduce its new company Pivotal, focusing on cloud computing and big data, in China for the first time, and it was at this event that the JD.com agreement was announced. EMC predicted that in 2013, Pivotal's sales will reach USD300 million and the number will be USD1 billion by 2017. According to a five-year development plan published by EMC China in March 2013, the company aims to increase the operating revenue of its big data related businesses by ten times.
