Taiwanese PC maker Asus published its operating statistics for the third quarter of 2015, stating that its operating revenue reached NTD119.3 billion, which was about CNY23.25 billion, representing an increase of 10.1% compared with the previous quarter.
In September alone, Asus' operating revenue reached NTD43.93 billion, a year-on-year increase of 5.7% and an increase of 7.6% over August. From January to September, the company realized accumulated operating revenue of NTD339.602 billion, which maintained at the same level as last year.
For the laptop sector, Asus said they achieved their goal of shipping 4.8 million units in the third quarter of 2015. In regards to the fourth quarter, the company expects continuous shipment and operating revenue growth due to launch of new products and the peak season in Europe and America.
In the mobile phone sector, Asus said the market demand continued to rise; however, due to the delayed shipment of new products, some shipments will be postponed to the fourth quarter and its third-quarter shipment total was about 5.5 million units, which was lower than the expected six million units. At the same time, it will not affect the company's annual goal of shipping 20 million to 21 million mobile phones.
Asus also said that with the launch of new products and the upcoming peak season, the company's laptop shipment level is expected to increase by 5% to 10% in the fourth quarter of 2015 to between five million and 5.3 million units; while its mobile phone shipment is expected to increase by over 20% to between 6.5 million and 7.5 million units.
