China.com Gives GM Double-Duty With CFO Role

CDC Corporation's (CHINA) subsidiary China.com has announced the appointment of Dr. Xiaowei Chen to the position of Chief Financial Officer, effective today.

Currently General Manager of China.com, Dr. Chen is responsible for formulating the company's overall business strategy and spearheading the growth of its portal unit. She will retain her GM role with her new CFO duties.

In her role as CFO, Dr. Chen will assume wider responsibilities in fueling the company's expansion in the fast-growing industries. In addition to driving the growth of China.com's portal business, Dr. Chen will be responsible for leading the company's merger and acquisition activities and other ongoing capital market initiatives.

Prior to joining China.com, Dr. Chen was a media industry consultant with Mckinsey's New York office. Her areas of responsibility covered a full range of consulting services in media industry including strategy formulation for the development of clients' businesses and due diligence in mergers and acquisitions. Prior to that, Dr. Chen spent five years as an anchor and correspondent at CCTV.
