Hisense Establishes TD-SCDMA Product Line

Hisense, a major TD-SCDMA mobile phone supplier in China, has announced that the company established a TD-SCDMA/GSM dual-mode phone production line with an annual capacity of 500,000 units, making it one of the biggest TD-SCDMA mobile phone production lines in China.

The new production line of Hisense is a surface mounted technology line. With the SMT, electronics products costs' can be reduced by 30% to 50%. In addition, it has advantages such as high reliability, strong anti-vibration ability and less electromagnetic and radio frequency interference.

As one of the first six mobile phone manufacturers that gained the certificate for TD-SCDMA production from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Hisense won a successful bid of 10,500 mobile phones in the first round terminal tender of China Mobile and it gained a 14,500 order in the second round.

Hisense says that unlike other manufacturers who may entrust the manufacturing to foundries, Hisense will manufacture and supply the TD-SCDMA mobile phones by itself.
