In-Stat/MDR, in collaboration with Reed Business Information, China, recently announced the launch of its latest internationally based research practice, focusing specifically on the Chinese wireless market.
In-Stat/MDR has hired Tina Xu, an analyst based in Beijing, China, in order to be able to more comprehensively cover all of these areas, in addition to providing analysis of key market and technology trends in the region.
"We are very excited to have someone with Ms. Xu's expertise on the ground in a region that is so significantly impacting the rest of the world's technology markets," said Chris Van Gaal, senior director of content development for In-Stat/MDR. "Tina is a very welcome addition to our global wireless team and will be adding a new dimension to the development of our products and customer service in this arena."
The practice's launch will be marked by the availability of its flagship report, "China's Wireless Services Market Analysis and Forecast 2002-2007." The report finds that the wireless services market in China continues to grow rapidly, with the expectation that China's mobile market will grow from 206.75 million subscribers in 2002 to 402.28 million subscribers by 2007, a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.5% for the forecast period.
Over the next five years, China's wireless services market will see a dramatic development and transformation with the move from today's voice-centric, price-competitive model to one characterized by a more complex mixture of voice, wireless data and multimedia services.
