Reports are coming out in the media that Intel Corp plans to construct a new solution technology support center in the Xi'an high-tech industrial park in Xi'an.

Representatives of the Xi'an High-Tech Industrial Park's Committee for Management are quoted as saying that an Intel rep signed an agreement with the management committee officials last week about the establishment of the center.

The projected center, which would be the first of its kind in China, is expected to dramatically boost the city's information technology industry. An official with the management committee of the high-tech park is quoted as saying: "I hope IT companies in Xi'an will keep abreast of the latest IT know-how via Intel, get support in technological research and product development from Intel, carry out cooperation in the fields of e-administration, distance education and online games development, as well as promote products on the market."
