Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. announced it established Panasonic Software Development Center Dalian Co., Ltd. (PSDCD) in the Dalian Software Park located in Dalian, Liaoning Province, China on January 12, 2004.

Since the importance of software technology for digital electronics is rapidly increasing, the Matsushita Group decided to establish the PSDCD as a new software development organization in the city of Dalian which has advantages for collaboration with MEI divisions in Japan, including highly skilled human resources, geographical proximity to Japan, and the city's advanced Japanese language education.

The company will take on the development not only of the software to be embedded in Matsushita products developed and sold in the Chinese market but also in the global market. It will operate as the Group's model software development organization and focus on ensuring software quality and improving development efficiency. In parallel with the company's establishment, the Dalian Recruiting Center was also established under Matsushita Electric (China) Co., Ltd. The role of this organization is to recruit and supply top-notch human resources to the Matsushita Group companies located in the Northeastern region of China as exemplified by the company, and improve recruiting efficiency in China by building a good working relationship with the universities located in the region.
