Datacolor today announced its commitment to world-class color solutions through investment in two strategic facilities in China's fast-growing industrial areas of Shanghai and Suzhou.
The globalization of virtually all goods and services–coupled with their enormous demand in the growing Chinese economy–has created challenges for today's manufacturers. Design and development often are in one location while production moves around the world.
Datacolor's representative office in Shanghai officially opened on Feb. 16, 2004. As a dedicated customer center, the Shanghai office offers the full range of products, services, training, and support for Datacolor's industry leading color technology. This includes equipment, systems, software and services to create, manage, control and communicate color throughout the production cycle and across the entire supply chain. The office is headed by Steve Shaw, Datacolor's vice president of textile color solutions.
Datacolor Technology (Suzhou) Co. Ltd. was established in September 2003 to supply goods to Datacolor's manufacturing facility in New Jersey. The facility helps streamline operations by keeping component purchases and subassembly production within China. In addition, Datacolor Suzhou hosts training and support events, critical functions in the effective support of the company's broad and comprehensive array of color technology. This technology supports virtually every industrial sector that has come to China–from apparel and textiles to automotive, plastics, paper, ink, and paint and coatings applications. The new color laboratory at Datacolor Suzhou will open later this year. The laboratory will offer customer support and services not available anywhere else in mainland China.
