Intel Corp. has landed WiMAX agreements with two Chinese cities, the company revealed Wednesday.
During a visit to China, John Antone, Intel's VP and general manager of the Asia/Pacific sales and marketing group, announced the memoranda of understandings with the Dalian and Chengdu municipal governments. The agreements call for Intel to deploy network infrastructure to take advantage of next-generation WiMAX broadband wireless technology, which provides a wireless alternative for last-mile broadband connectivity to businesses and homes.
Specific terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
