.CN Domain Names Increase More Than .COM

August 13, 2004
Internet

According to Xinnet, the largest .CN domain name registration service provider in China, .CN registration in China has increased by 14% in the first half of 2004, exceeding the 3.5% increase of .COM in the same period.

Xinnet's index has often been deemed a weatherglass of the development of the Chinese Internet service industry because of its large database and high usage in China.

Also as released by CNNIC statistics, the rate between the two has dropped from 6:1 in 2003 to 2.4:1 today. All this shows that the advantages and value of .CN have already been well accepted by Chinese individuals as well as enterprises, and the domain will be facing a steady upsurge in the coming months.
