Tektronix announced additional support for China's Time Division – Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA) through software options for its WCA200A (Wireless Communication Analyzer).
The new software enables designers of TD-SCDMA devices to realize the benefits of Real-Time Spectrum Analysis through standardized, automated one-button tests using the measurement methods and limits found in the TD-SCDMA standard.
TD-SCDMA was developed by the China Academy of Telecommunications Technology (CATT) in collaboration with Datang and Siemens and proposed as a standard by the China Wireless Telecommunication Standards group (CWTS). TD-SCDMA was approved by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and has been incorporated by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) within the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) Release Phase 4.
The design challenge of integrating more complex components into small 3G mobile devices requires powerful test instruments that provide unique insight, enabling designers to solve their toughest development problems. Tektronix' WCA200A Wireless Communication Analyzers combine real-time spectrum analysis, vector signal analysis and spectrum analysis to accommodate development of 3G components, network and end-user equipment. The WCA200A Series is able to do this by providing a combination of Real-Time Spectrum Analysis with high performance and flexible modulation analysis. The triggering, capture and time correlated multi domain analysis capabilities of the WCA200A are intended to simplify the process of characterizing and troubleshooting a TD-SCDMA device.
