BACKGROUND:

UMTS, or Universal Mobile Telecommunications System, is a 3rd generation (3G) mobile cellular technology that offers higher data speeds and increased capacity compared to its predecessor, 2G. It was developed to enable advanced mobile communication services such as video calling, mobile internet access, and multimedia messaging. UMTS operates on the WCDMA standard and is a key technology in the evolution of mobile networks towards higher performance and efficiency.
