Shenzhen Dongjin has finally given official comments about Intel's (INTC) trademark dispute with the company. Intel has submitted a petition to Shenzhen Secondary People's Court, accusing Shenzhen Dongjin Communications Technology Stock Company of intellectual property violations.
Li Rujiang, president of Dongjin has told local media that their company has not been asked to stop sales of any products. Previous reports stated that the court asked that the products for which Intel says are in voliation of its intellectual property should be temporarily stopped. Li also says his employees are confident that they will win the case.
According to local media, Intel accuses Dongjin of using an "Intel Head File" in its DN series voice cards and assisting users to obtain or deliberately violate the protocols of this file. Intel is seeking CNY65.78 Million as compensation from Dongjin.
Li says the evidence Intel has submitted to the court is just some publicly-obtainable materials from the company. He says this evidence clearly vindicates his company. As for the use of "Intel Head File" in its products, Li says that is a way to make Dongjin's product compatible with products from Intel.
The case will be processed on March 23, 2005.
