jp.9588.com began air ticket delivery services in Beijing before the Spring Festival and it has now launched a "One Hundred Round-Trip Air Tickets" offer for college students.
Now users of the website can find detailed information about flights across China, including flight number, schedules, plane type, price and discount rate.
China is filled with thousands of travel agencies and more are going online to compete with powerhouses like eLong.com (LONG) and Ctrip.com (CTRP). In addition, because China's travel market still lacks many preferential pricing mechanisms that exist in other countries, often it is difficult for these online travel agencies to offer cheaper pricing than their competitors.
Some analysts predict that online ticketing will account for nearly 50% of the total market share in China and its sales revenue will reach as high as CNY30 billion in 2005.
