Motorola (MOT) says that Simon Leung, Motorola's senior vice-president, Networks Asia-Pacific, has been promoted to president for Motorola's Asia-Pacific Region.
Leung is a member of Motorola's Asia Pacific Management Board and Vice-Chairman of Motorola's Joint Venture with Eastcom in Hangzhou, China. Leung will assume the position of Chairman of Motorola China Electronic Limited.
In this new role, Leung will lead the regional and country strategies for Motorola across Asia Pacific. His responsibilities include implementing strategic account management across the company's global accounts, executing marketing and sales plans, and strengthening relationships with key constituencies. In addition, Leung will continue to lead Motorola's Networks business.
"Simon brings an exceptional amount of knowledge and experience to his expanded role as Motorola's Asia-Pacific regional president. This position will serve as the model for the direction Motorola is heading in its business strategy, customer focus and governance," said Ed Zander, CEO of Motorola, in a press release.
