DBtel's president Mo Haoran says his company will be divided into three sub-companies to handle product manufacturing, branding and sales, respectively.
At the same time, DBtel's parent company Taiwan Daba Electronics has decided to invest an additional CNY$84.6 million into DBtel.
DBtel is the only Taiwan-based enterprise that has been issued a mobile phone license on the mainland. But it has seen its sales slide as it competes with foreign and domestic Chinese brands. The company's executives hope the restructuring will breathe new life into the electronics firm.
Mo will be responsible for running the branding company; vice-CEO Peng Xinmiao will take charge of the product manufacturing company; and another vice-CEO, Chen Guanjun, will take responsibility of the sales organization.
