Telecom Contract Consolidation In Beijing

May 23, 2005
Telecom & Wireless

The Beijing Municipal Administration of Industry and Commerce has reached an agreement with the Beijing Communications Management Bureau, Beijing Mobile and Beijing Unicom to consolidate and streamline contracts used to register consumers for new telecom services.

The parties agree that all telecom service contract samples will be provided by the Beijing Municipal Administration of Industry and Commerce and the operators themselves will not use their own contract clauses. Previously each telecom issued and interpreted there own contracts, but now the Municipal Administration will be the decision maker.

The new contracts have been finished, but they have not yet been distributed. The Municipal Administration says that the new measures should be implemented by the end of the summer.
