PacificNet's (PACT.PK) subsidiary PacificNet Clickcom, has reached an agreement with China Mobile's (CHL) Guangdong branch to launch a new value-added service called "MMS Blog", through which mobile users can send their pictures taken by mobile phones to WAP websites.
According to recent statistics announced by the Ministry of Information Industry (MII), China has about 402 million mobile users, out of which 30 million have camera-enabled phones. Young adults, who possess mobile phones with such a function, often upload the pictures taken to their favorite weblog (blog) sites and share with friends.
Based on such growing market demands, Clickcom launched this new service with integrated features of multi-media message service (MMS) and weblog features. Users can upload their favorite pictures to the WAP sites using MMS to share with others, through a service which costs CNY1 per use.
