IDS Expands Its Ringtone Business To China

September 22, 2005
Internet

IDS Worldwide has announced major expansion plans in China. It will open a first office in Hong Kong and the second office will open in Shanghai in the fourth quarter.

IDS' CEO, Patrick Downs, said, "The opening of the Chinese market, which represents one of the biggest online consumer markets in the world, will be primarily used to promote 995ad.com China, which will be launched in the coming quarter. China also represents one of the world's largest markets for the purchase of ringtones, cell phone games, and cell phone software. IDS' wholly owned subsidiary Ringtoneport.com will be part of a huge market awareness program for all sections of 995ad.com that will be handled from the company's Hong Kong office."

The online market in China is the fastest growing market for consumers in the world, as indicated by the recent flurry of acquisitions involving Chinese Internet sites by major online companies such as Yahoo, AOL, MSN and eBay.
