China Unicom Added 1.31 Million New Users In January

China Unicom announced last Sunday that it had had 1.31 million new users in January this year, the largest increase since May 2005.

By the end of the month, its total user number reached 129.1 million.

Of the total new users, 990,000 are GSM users and 320,000 are CDMA users.

As of January 2006, China Unicom has 96.06 million GSM users and 33.04 million CDMA users. The company still remains the second largest mobile operator in China, behind China Mobile.
