Beijing Mobile is launching a mobile phone protection service to prevent viruses and hackers from harming mobile phones.

The service is currently only available to Beijing Mobile's smartphone users.

According to a representative from Beijing Mobile, these users can gain protection for their mobile phones by downloading from Beijing Mobile's Monternet special software that provides real-time monitoring, short message filtering, and a firewall.

With the release of 3G, more users in China are expected to use smartphones that are often the target of attacks from viruses and hackers and China Mobile hopes this program will help those users.
