The SCOPE Alliance, an association of leading Network Equipment Providers, announced that Huawei has joined the alliance.
"Having Huawei join the SCOPE Alliance increases the impact of the alliance in that it will more closely reflect the perspective of all markets. It clearly demonstrates that SCOPE as an organization represents NEPs worldwide," said Chris Wardale of NEC and SCOPE board member.
By joining the alliance, Huawei is committing to support SCOPE's mission of enabling and promoting the availability and interoperability of open carrier grade base platforms based on commercial off the shelf building blocks.
"Huawei is pleased to be joining the other leading NEPs in the SCOPE Alliance to enable and promote open specifications and a common approach to base platforms used in creating Network Elements; this type of co-operation enables all of us to focus our resources on bringing maximum value to our customers," said Wang Bingfu, GM of Huawei Research Department.
