Granite Global Ventures, JAFCO Asia, and IDG Technology have blessed Chinese podcasting website Toodou.com with a US$8.5 million investment.

Launched on April 15, 2005, Toodou.com is one of the leading video sharing companies in China.

Toodou.com is a multimedia podcasting website that allows Internet users to share original audio and video clips and then post them to their websites and blogs.

As demand for original local content becomes strong in China, especially among young people, Toodou says it will continue to provide a much-needed outlet for innovative content creation, and excellent venue for highly personalized entertainment.

Helen Wong of Granite Global Ventures and Sam Lai of JAFCO Asia will join the board of Toodou.com.
