ON Semiconductor (ONNN) has established a new power laboratory with Kingvon Group and it has teamed up with Changhong Group to pursue opportunities in consumer and energy-saving power applications.
Kingvon Group is one of China's largest set-top box manufacturers. The lab will be located at Kingvon's Chengdu office and focus on extending ON Semiconductor's solutions including pulse-width modulation (PWM) controllers and power factor correction (PFC) devices into Kingvon's set-top box and next-generation products comprising digital cameras, mobiles, printers, notebooks and LCD products.
To help Kingvon succeed with its business plans, ON Semiconductor has assigned a resident field application engineer to the joint lab to work closely with Kingvon's development teams to build on their time-to-market access with energy-saving set-top boxes and other next-generation products.
The Changhong-ON Semiconductor Power Joint Lab is located at Changhong's headquarters in Mianyang. The new lab further demonstrates ON Semiconductor's commitment to the development of power solutions in partnerships with China.
By leveraging ON Semiconductor's strengths, expertise and experience in power management solutions, the Changhong-ON Semiconductor Power Joint Lab will enable the two companies to collaborate on efficient power management solutions for LCD TVs, plasma TVs, set-top boxes and air conditioners.
