IBM (IBM) China has released its achievements made in the China market in 2006 and the company's new strategic focus in the country for 2007.
2006 was the third year the company won the top position in all major IT fields including server, middleware, external storage and IT services. It also opened four subsidiaries in China and its total employees reached more than 10,000.
In 2006, IBM was engaged in a cooperation with the Chinese government. It signed with China's Ministry of Education on helping China train service-oriented talents and signed with China's Ministry of Commerce on completing the latter's initiatives. In the year, It also opened the IBM China Innovation Center, SOA Solution Center and IBM Global Service Implementation Center. In the meantime, it also moved its global outsourcing center to Shenzhen.
IBM China's chief Zhou Weikun says that in 2007 IBM will focus on carrying out five main strategies in China: bringing its service value to more clients, helping clients grow through innovation, becoming the most valuable and efficient solutions supplier in China, helping IBM to integrate its global business and making new headway through cooperation with the local government.
This year, IBM will set up four subsidiaries in Taiyuan, Shijiazhuang, Suzhou and Ningbo, which will work closely with its existing 22 subsidiaries to develop more services in China.
