U.S. electronics retailer Best Buy has announced that it has reached a strategic cooperation with China Unicom to sell the latter's 3G products in its stores in China.
These products will include China Unicom's 3G mobile phones, data cards, packages, and 3G Internet services.
Lu Dongliang, vice general manager for China Unicom Shanghai, told local media that since the launch of its 3G services in May 2009, China Unicom has been seeking cross-sectoral cooperation and this is the first time for China Unicom's 3G products to enter the world's leading electronics retail channel.
According to Best Buy's vice president for retail operations, China Unicom's store-in-store approach for Best Buy will promote and display 3G products and technologies. In the future, the two parties will work on comprehensive solutions with mobile phone makers.
