According to reports in local media, the termination has been mainly attributed to an internal dispute among its co-founders. In the future, the domain name of Tongji.la will be independently operated by its owner, Zhang Jinwen.

Founded in Xiamen on September 1, 2008, Tongji.la mainly provided free-of-charge website traffic analytics for webmasters in China. The website stopped providing this service on September 28, 2009.
