The world's leading mobile telecommunications company Vodafone has signed a strategic cooperation agreement the Taiwanese telecom operator Chunghwa Telecom to provide a series of services to its users in Taiwan.
According to Vodafone, the company signed a non-equity partner market agreement with Chunghwa Telecom. Under the agreement, the two parties will provide communications services and enhanced roaming services to users. Meanwhile Chunghwa Telecom will be the exclusive agency for Vodafone's products, services, and equipment in Taiwan.
With the cooperation with Chunghwa Telecom, Vodafone will provide its customers a range of services with the help of local network capabilities as well as extended coverage within Taiwan. The two companies will also provide additional support to Vodafone's global enterprise customers.
In addition, Chunghwa Telecom announced that it will cooperate with Vodafone to offer international roaming discounts from December 1, 2009. At the onset, the discounts will be as high as a 30% discount to cover 17 countries in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, including local calls there and calling back to Taiwan, SMS, and GPRS services. More countries will be covered in the future.
