HTC Launches Social Media Smartphone In China

Smartphone maker HTC and the Chinese Internet company Sina.com jointly held a cross-platform brand launch meeting in Beijing to promote the first Sina microblog-themed smartphone product in China.

The two companies said that they will cooperate in product development and promotion in the future for their new social media smartphone. At the product launch meeting, HTC announced that its first tablet computer product named Flyer has also been formally launched in the Chinese market.

Ren Weiguang, president for HTC China, told local media that HTC is proud of its cooperation with Sina.com in the launch of the first social networking smartphone in China. HTC's new product is another deep customized smartphone for the Chinese market. It marks the formal entry of the world's popular social smartphone into the Chinese market.

Ren also introduced that HTC Flyer is the world's first tablet computer that adopts the capacitive touch screen; meanwhile it supports a handwriting input method with a stylus. Combined with the HTC Sense graphical user interface, HTC Flyer will bring unprecedented application experiences to Chinese users.

Cao Guowei, chief executive officer and president of Sina.com, said that the launch of Weibo microblog smartphone with HTC represents Sina.com's focus on product upgrades and improvement of its overall user experience. Sina.com will continue its cooperation with HTC and add more partners to achieve product innovation to meet Chinese netizens' demands for better mobile Internet products and applications.
