Chinese telecom operator China Mobile announced that its 139 email service has opened to the users of China Unicom and China Telecom.
Starting from December 23, 2011, users of China Unicom and China Telecom were able to register for the 139 email service of China Mobile. However, the current version provided is a reduced version and users of China Unicom and China Telecom can only use the basic functions like sending and receiving emails and viewing contact lists.
In addition, China Unicom and China Telecom users now can only use the 139 email service on PCs, while the mobile phone version is expected to be available in the future.
China Mobile has been gradually opening its services to users of other operators. Prior to this, it offered the latest version of its Fetion instant messaging service, which allows its users to send short messages to users of China Unicom and China Telecom on PCs.
