Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC announced the appointment of Benjamin Ho as the new chief marketing officer of the company, reporting directly to chief executive officer Peter Chou.
Ho will be mainly responsible for the company's global marketing and branding businesses, and will lead the company's brand marketing into its next stage. His first mission is to lead the company's new project, which is internally called "Marketing 2.0". This project aims at comprehensive marketing and mass-market-oriented brand promotion.
Ho will officially take the role in January 2013. By then, he will work with Jason MacKenzie, HTC's global marketing president who is mainly in charge of the company's global sales strategy.
Prior to this, Ho was vice president of business strategy and marketing in Far EasTone, a Taiwanese telecom operator.
