During the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement conference held in Barcelona, mobile communications carriers from China, Japan and South Korea, including China Mobile, NTT DoCoMo and KT, released a joint plan to enhance 5G technical cooperation.
Taking the opportunity of Mobile World Congress 2015, the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement conference was initiated by KT.
The joint statement covers various content, including information exchange about the prospect and development route of 5G in the Asian markets; joint review of 5G core technologies and systems; implementing cooperation with international organizations to lead 5G international standards; and making joint efforts to explore new services and new markets.
During the conference, KT suggested the building of a special working group within SCFA to control the dominant right of 5G globalization. Chang-Gyu Hwang, chairman and CEO, said that 5G is an irreversible development trend. In the future, KT will cooperate with China Mobile and NTT DoCoMo to develop the next-generation technologies while providing various convergence services.
