JD and Letv signed a strategic cooperation agreement under which JD.com aims to sell six million Letv smartphones, including three million Le 2 smartphones.

Meanwhile, the two parties reached consensus in various sectors, including exclusive sales, product debuts, and policy support. Financial teerms of the deal were not released.

JD and Letv maintained good partnerships in the past. During the November 11 e-commerce promotion in 2015, Letv's Le 1s smartphone made its debut on JD's platform and gained three titles on this platform, including single-day smartphone sales champion, fastest-growing smartphone brand, and smartphone sales champion of the price segment between CNY800 and CNY1,199.

On January 15, 2016, JD launched the Letv brand day. During this campaign, Letv's super TV products received over 100,000 orders within 24 hours; while Letv's super phone products received over 80,000 orders in total.

With this new strategic cooperation agreement, JD will further enhance its cooperation with branded manufacturers, which marks a step forward of JD's transformation from a branded retailer to a branded service provider.
