China's Spreadtrum, a company under Tsinghua Unigroup, has established a strategic partnership with British semiconductor company Dialog that aims at LTE chip platform development.
With the cooperation, Dialog will provide highly integrated hybrid signal power management technology to Spreadtrum's LTE chip platform targeting the world's mainstream market.
During the first stage of the strategic cooperation, Dialog's latest customized SoC chip SC2705 will be applied to Spreadtrum's 14-nanometer medium- and high-end LTE chip platform SC9861G-IA. The two parties will launch more diversified LTE products and solutions for mainstream smartphones and regional markets in the future.
Dialog is a chip supplier for Apple's iPhone and iPad. To develop the LTE chip platform, Spreadtrum and Dialog are considering setting up a joint venture in East China.
Commenting on the cooperation, Tsinghua Unigroup's chairman Zhao Weiguo said that Tsinghua Unigroup extremely supports the strategic cooperation of Spreadtrum and Dialog. This will create more value for the two parties and the cooperating partners of the two parties.
Jalal Bagherli, chief executive officer of Dialog, said that the cooperation with Spreadtrum will lay a solid foundation for their development in China and Asian emerging markets.
