China Academy of Information and Communications Technology recently published an analysis report on China's mobile phone market for April 2019, stating that China's smartphone shipment in April reached 34.791 million units, a year-on-year increase of 6.5%; and Android smartphones accounted for 92.7% of the total shipment.
According to the report, from January to April 2019, China's total smartphone shipment was 108 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 5.8%; and Android smartphone shipment accounted for 92.5% of the total shipment.
In regards to the overall shipment of Chinese mobile phone market, the report pointed out that in April 2019, China's mobile phone market realized total shipment of 36.53 million units, a year-on-year increase of 6.7%. 4G smartphone shipment reached 34.848 million units, a year-on-year increase of 6.6%, and it accounted for 95.4% of the total mobile phone shipment.
In addition, the report revealed that during April 2019, 42 new modes were released in the Chinese market, representing a decrease of 23.6% compared with the same period of last year. Those 42 new modes included seven 2G products and 35 4G products. During the first four months of 2019, 167 new modes were released in the Chinese market, a year-on-year decrease of 36%. Those 167 new modes included 31 2G products, one 3G products, and 135 4G products.
