Market research firm IDC recently published its tracking report on China's public cloud service market for the second half of 2018.
According to the report, during the third and fourth quarters of 2018, the top five cloud service providers in the Chinese market were Aliyun, Tencent Cloud, China Telecom, Amazon's AWS, and Baidu's Intelligent Cloud. It was the first time for Baidu's Intelligent Cloud to enter the top five list and its operating revenue was reportedly increased by over three times year-over-year.
This ranking list was based on the overall market share of IaaS and PaaS.
IDC said that during the year of 2018, late comers in the public cloud market enhanced their efforts. Companies like Huawei, Baidu, Inspur and JD achieved rapid growth of two to eight times of market average, attributing to their strong R&D and ecology advantages.
