According to reports in foreign media, Huawei recently opened a 5G mobile network open lab in South Korea.

Huawei said that the company plans to invest about USD5 million into this lab in the central area of Seoul; however, no detailed location was revealed. The launch of this lab was very low key and no media was invited to the activity.

Huawei's South Korean office said in a statement that with its 5G network advantage, Huawei will cooperate with many South Korean information communication technology companies, especially medium- and small-sized enterprises to jointly build a 5G ecosystem.

Huawei also said that this South Korean lab is the company's first open 5G service development center in the world and it will provide a testing platform environment to other companies.
