Chinese Internet literature platform China Reading and mobile phone maker Transsion recently announced strategic cooperation and the two parties will jointly develop the online reading market in Africa.
Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Shenzhen, Transsion has three mobile phone brands TECNO, itel, and Infinix. In 2018, Transsion's mobile phone shipment reached 124 million units. According to statistics from IDC, Transsion's combined market share of various brands ranked No.1 in the African market in 2018.
With the cooperation, China Reading and Transsion will integrate China Reading's original content base and online reading platform operation experience with Transsion's distribution channels in the African market to provide online reading contents and products to local users.
It is said that their African platform will first launch China Reading's existing nearly 30,000 English works and they will gradually provide editions of other local languages as well as local original contents. In addition, China Reading's online reading app will be pre-installed on Transsion's mobile phones sold in Africa.
China Reading said that by cooperating with Transsion, the company can seize the huge opportunity of the African online reading market. The cooperation represents an important step of the company's international strategy, which will help the company further expand global user group and explore the value of literature IP.
