Chinese telecom device maker Huawei recently published its business results for the first half of 2019.
Liang Hua, chairman of Huawei, said that during the first half of 2019, Huawei's business operation was smooth, its organization was stable, and its management was effective. Meanwhile, its financial indicators were good and achieved stable operation.
According to the report published by Huawei, the company's operating revenue reached CNY401.3 billion, a year-on-year increase of 23.2% and its net profit rate was 8.7%. It is said that Huawei's carrier business revenue was CNY146.5 billion, its enterprise business revenue was CNY31.6 billion, and its consumer business revenue was CNY220.8 billion.
In regards to mobile phone, Huawei's smartphone shipment reached 118 million units in the first half of 2019, a year-on-year increase of 24%. In addition, the company had gained 50 5G commercial use contracts and its shipment of global base stations reached over 150,000.
Huawei's tablet, PC and wearable device shipment also realized a healthy and rapid growth. During the first half of 2019, Huawei's tablet realized a year-on-year increase of 10%, its PC reached triple increase, and its wearable device reached double increase.
Moreover, Huawei announced plans to invest CNY120 billion in research and development in 2019.
