China Telecom recently published its semi-annual performance report ended June 30, 2019, stating that the company's operating revenue reached CNY190.488 billion, a year-on-year increase of 2.8%; its net profit attributable to shareholders was CNY13.909 billion, a year-on-year increase of 2.5%; and its basic net profit per share was CNY0.17.
At the same time, China Telecom's service revenue reached CNY182.6 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.8%. For details, its mobile service revenue was CNY88.2 billion, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%; and its fixed-line network service revenue was CNY94.4 billion, a year-on-year increase of 0.3%. In addition, its emerging businesses revenue accounted for 55.4% of its total service revenue.
The report also revealed that China Telecom's EBITDA reached CNY63.3 billion, a year-on-year increase of 13.3%; its capital expense was CNY35 billion, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%; and its free cash flow was CNY18.3 billion.
During the first half of 2019, China Telecom's mobile users reached 323 million and its overall market share increased to 20.4%, an increase of 0.8 percentage point compared with that at the end of 2018. Its 4G users reached 266 million, marking a net increase of 23.71 million. Its mobile Internet data traffic was doubled and its mobile Internet revenue increased by 11.5% year-on-year.
The company's cable broadband users reached over 150 million, marking a net increase of 4.39 million.
