ZTE Signed 5G Strategic Cooperation Agreement With Sinopec Geophysical Research Institute

ZTE and Sinopec Geophysical Research Institute recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement, under which the two parties will implement in-depth cooperation in the oil and gas exploration sector and jointly research and develop application innovations of 5G technologies in this sector.

Li Hui, vice president of ZTE, said that as a 5G pioneer, ZTE attaches great importance to 5G key technologies and products development. The company has 5G end-to-end solution core abilities and 5G complete product series scale advantage and core competitiveness. Sinopec Geophysical Research Institute is the brain of Sinopec and it is the R&D center of geophysical exploration high technologies and core technologies. The two parties will play their technical advantages in respective sectors to jointly promote 5G industrial application innovation.

Zhao Gaishan, vice director of Sinopec Geophysical Research Institute, said that 5G is the next-generation communication technology. They hope to apply 5G's low latency and multi-connection features to solve technical difficulties in the oil and gas exploration sector, so as to develop intelligent and localized geophysical exploration device technologies.

In the future, the two parties will use their respective advantageous resources to realize market resource sharing and promote market joint expansion, ecosystem construction, and program innovation in the oil and gas exploration sector.
