Chinese scientists have developed a quantum computer prototype with 113 detected photons to solve tasks using the classical Gaussian boson sampling (GBS) modeling algorithm. The researchers said the Jiuzhang 2.0 system can facilitate large-scale GBS septillion times faster than the fastest existing supercomputer and 10 billion times faster than its 76-photon Jiuzhang predecessor.
