Chinese spend $ 9.5 billion in digital yuan

One of the leaders of the People’s Bank of China (NBK) said that as of October 2021, 140 million Chinese citizens opened e-wallets for the digital yuan, and the total volume of transactions has already reached 62 billion yuan ($ 9.5 billion). The announcement was made by Mu Changchun, CEO of the Institute of Digital Currencies at the NBK, during the Fintech Week in Hong Kong.
