Kindle’s long-term in China is doubtful after it disappears from online shelves

The official Kindle store on Tmall, Alibaba’s online mall, closed in October. Chinese versions of the e-book device have sold out lately on Amazon. cn, the company’s localized site for China. Its official store in JD. com remains open, but most of its devices are also sold out. Some models can still be found in their official WeChat store. In an interview with TechCrunch, an Amazon spokesperson said some Kindle models are “currently sold out in China,” but consumers can still purchase Kindle through “third-party online and offline stores. “The company declined to say why its Alibaba store was closed....
