India aims to rival China in quantum computing

With a wary eye toward China, India is investing in quantum technology to gain a computing and information edge. Last month, Indian scientists from the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi successfully demonstrated a Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) link for more than 100 kilometers between Prayagraj and Vindhyachal in Uttar Pradesh. This was achieved using existing commercial-grade fiber-optic networks.
